To its well-earned reputation as Beer City, Asheville has diversified with local, craft-made wine, cider, and spirits. Even so, the city’s bars, restaurants, and bottle shops have made room for the explosive growth of nonalcoholic beer, wine, and spirits, and urged their mixologists to go beyond the tired cranberry juice and club soda and dream up intoxicating cocktails minus intoxication. Since launching with two flavors of craft-made NA ginger beer in 2018, Devil’s Foot Beverage Company has steadily expanded its alcohol-free brands, production, and distribution. Collaborations with local breweries produced cocktail-inspired, zero-alcohol canned drinks like the Dark & Stormy with Highlands and NA Negroni with Burial Beer.
